Our originally developed rolling simulation software, Wicon is not just a simple pass design program but a professional tool for making all the necessary calculations and simulation of the process parameters in a rolling mill. The easy-to-use concept makes it possible for all mill management to the operators to be involved in the production, test and check the idea for improving the mill conditions. Using this program our customers decrease downtime and avoid unsuccessful test rolling of new pass. Wicon is used by more than 120 companies around the world for improving the process conditions in existing mills.

  • Building the most accurate process data base of th rolling mill to be used as set-up of the mill.
  • Evaluation of the existing mills to detect technically weak spots in order to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Instruction and training about the consequences of changing the rolling setup parameters, e.g. gaps, billet temperature and gap time.
  • Off-line control of rolling mills. The program reports the measures to be taken when switching from one finishing dimension to another and/or changing the material to be rolled. Very accurate motor revolutions are calculated which makes it easy to set revolutions for mills with manual motor regulation.
  • "Test rolling" of improved, new or alternative rolling schedules.
  • Simulation of revamping and modification of the mill layout.
